In the Senedd this evening, the Welsh Conservatives brought forward a vote of no confidence in the Labour Minister responsible for blanket 20mph speed limits, Lee Waters MS.
Reflecting on how the constituencies only sitting Lib Dem voted this evening, James said.
“It is disappointing to see the Leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats once again side with Welsh Labour. Voting against our motion she has made it very clear that she does not respect the wishes of the 440,000 people who signed the record breaking Senedd petition to scrap blanket 20mph speed limit.”
James goes on to say.
“It’s clear, blanket 20mph speed limits are damaging livelihoods and jobs, will slow down emergency services, and cost the Welsh economy up to £9bn. That’s why the Deputy Minister’s position is untenable.
“Labour and Lee Waters will continue to carry on with pet projects that don’t resonate with the people of Wales while the Welsh Conservatives will continue holding the Labour Government to account, whilst standing up for motorists.”
