James Evans MS recently attended Chepstow Racecourse after an invite from the British Horseracing Authority.
Chepstow Racecourse opened its gates in the early 1920's and has since blossomed into a bustling track that is home to the Welsh Grand National. From just a pretty park, this venue is now home to racing fixtures and music events throughout the year, as well as being available to hire for weddings, conferences and events.
James Evans MS said:
"It was great to be able to visit Chepstow Racecourse last week to meet with the Director Phil Bell and his team.
The impact of Covid-19 on the hospitality an events industry has been devastating, it was important to hear about how the industry was bouncing back and what legislation needs to change in order to help them get their businesses profitable again.
Horse racing and training is extremely popular across Brecon and Radnorshire with many people owning horses and involved in the equine community.
I heard about the positive knock on effect that Chepstow races has on tourism across south and mid Wales and look forward to attending the Welsh Grand National again in the future!"
